Titanium dioxide
[SAFE] Titanium dioxide is the natural occurring oxide of titanium. Usually it is sourced from natural rock such as ilmenite. The raw material is in powder state but used in cosmetic formulations is liquid or solid. In depilatory waxes is mixed with the resin to create a buffer between resin and the skin to make the wax more gentle and suitable to be used on sensitive skin, facial areas etc. Titanium dioxide is listed as a safe ingredient with no known adverse effects when used in cosmetics and approved by FDA.
